There is danger from all men. The only maxim of a free government ought to be to trust no man living with power to endanger the public liberty.

Who owns the Constitution?  Nifty thing about the casebook, is that you may help write it. The American Constitution defines the structure, the backbone of the law, but competing interests are always fighting over what it means, making it a dynamic and living document.

1. Welcome to Texas!

Right to Privacy v. Free Speech, Equal Protection, and Due Process

2. Bienvenue a Louisianne !

3. Why Don't Those #@!%&* Commies Have to Salute the Flag?

How would you have voted? Make'em. Leave them alone. (Freedom of Worship)

4. Freedom of Speech and Press     Somebody needs to shut they little mouths!

Derry Brownfield said, "This isn't the first time a nation has cried out for HOMELAND SECURITY. In 1933 Adolph Hitler, writing about the creation of the German Gestapo wrote:

" An evil exists that threatens every man, woman and child of this great nation. We must take steps to insure our domestic security and protect our Homeland."

Did Hitler really say that? How do you know? If not, did Derry Brownfield slander Mr. Hitler? President Bush?

Extra credit: Can you commit actionable libel against a dead person? We know libel against a dead person is low down, and dirty rotten (See the tribute to the Beach boy who is a zombie, not because he was a druggie or threw himself in to the power of Mr. Wickham, but because his daddy was mean), but is it protected speech in America?

5. Help! Save me from the Body Snatchers!!!!!!!!

 Equal Protection of the Laws

  • Is a court ordered organ transplant  a violation of the patient's right to privacy and bodily integrity, or a denial of equal protection of the laws?
  • Who would like to interview someone from the U. S. Center for Disease Control about current data on morbidity and mortality related to blood transfusion, whole or component?
  • Who would like to interview someone OSHA about OSHA's "universal precautions"?
  • Who would like to interview a mere RN or orderly about OSHA's "universal precautions"?
  • Who would like to submit short report, in French and English, about the hemophiliacs' in France action against the French government for transmission of AIDS through the "blood for transplantation" supply?
  • Who would like to submit short report, in French and English,  about the Commission appointed by the Canadian government as to liability for transmission of AIDS through the blood supply to Canadian hemophiliacs ?

6. A Bloody Mess

Equal Protection of the Laws/Due Process of Law/Freedom of Worship

  • So you fancy yourself a historian..... okay then, smarty pants, email us a short Windows Media File, audio or video, or MP3 audio file report on any of the following:

  • Has any government ever protected its citizens from the dangers of blood transfusion?
  • Has any government ever outlawed transfusion? Who, for how long? Was the law ever repealed?

Who would like to interview someone at the Schneider Children's Hospital about their "blood avoidance" program?

7. "And after Rock died, they burned the nurses'  scrubs."

Legally, must a surgeon treat an AIDS patient? Must an oral surgeon? (Equal Protection of the Laws/Due Process of Law )

  • Who would like to interview a U.S. Attorney (USDOJ) who says yes?
  • Who would like to interview an attorney who believes the law cited by the U.S. Attorney to be unconstitutional on its face, by an equal protection argument?
  • Who would like to interview a Jewish rabbi, about the Jewish view of blood avoidance, including menstruating women?
  • Extra credit: What church banned blood transfusions on religious grounds? When?

8.  Meet Ms. Roe

Does the United States Constitution really give Mom and Dr. Mengele the right to murder her unborn child? (Right to Privacy v. Right to Life)

Extra credit: Someone video interview Norma McCorvey's children, including the Roe v. Wade child that was not aborted.

9. "A Good Sound Whipping"

  • Do you have a Constitutional right in America to give your kid , or anyone else's, as my Grandmother Beulah Barber Johnson said Willie got, a 'good sound whipping'?  (Freedom of Worship)
  • Does corporal punishment constitute cruel and unusual punishment?
  • Extra credit:  Let's hear from an Arab, a Christian, a Jew, each yes and no. Remember to include Koran Sura cite, etc. Please, for comparative government sake, let's hear from someone in a European country where corporal punishment of your children is against the law. Someone video interview the folks. Must be digital, and short, so it can be entered on website.
  • Extra credit:  Someone video interview the Brun Texas lawyer that defended the Muslim shopkeepers that offered the kid a whipping, or to turn him into the police, after catching him thieving. Kid and/or parents sued the Muslims?   Someone video interview thieving kiid and/or the parents. R the Muslims shop owners white? I mean, I know they are cocoa, too, but why do they get to B white, when other darklings don't, who came first?
  • Contibuted: What about the Turkey Creek Rule for husbands, "Sew him up in a sheet and beat him with a frying pan, and come out here, and they'll never find you?"  Editor's comment: Is America a land of barbarism?*

Extra credit:  Someone video interview

  • Comparative government! How about a member of the Canada Supreme Court who said you can whip your kid, but only if it is "transitory and light, over three and under sixteen", or something like that. *
  • Someone video interview a social services folk who issued statements of being appalled at the decision. Brutality!
  • Someone video interview some teachers and principal folk.

  • A Californian, Texan, Louisiana, and Mississippian.

*Special thanks for the "minor corrective force of a transitory and trifling nature" correction. Is 'trifling' and corrective a match?

* No, beards are not accepted on some ministers, the standard of "outside the mainstream" of acceptably dull grooming.
