DAPHNIE MARIE ALLBRITTON WOODS

Mulhearn Funeral Home - Monroe, LA
Services for Mrs. Daphnie Marie Allbritton Woods of Monroe, LA, will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2006 at 10:00 am at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Warren Eckhardt officiating. Burial services will be held at South Central Baptist Church Cemetery in Wisner, LA at 12:00 pm with Larry Eubanks officiating.

Daphnie was born on November 21, 1937 in Wisner, LA and died at her home in Monroe, LA on Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at the young age of 68.

After twenty-five years of service with Brookshire Grocery Company, she retired on May 9, 1998, to spend more time with her family. During her career at Brookshire's, she served at four locations of Brookshire's and Super One Foods in the twin cities. "Ms Daphnie", as many called her, made several life-long friends along the way.
In 2001, she began having back and hip problems, which did not allow her to do the things that she loved the most, such as cooking, taking care of her grand-babies, and traveling. By the grace of God, she found Dr. Nanda in Shreveport, LA, who was able to improve her quality of life. During the past two months, she was able to enjoy her family to the fullest, which in the eyes of the family was such a beautiful blessing. Thank you Dr. Nanda.

She was preceded in death by parents Andrew & Leddie "Tat" Allbritton of Wisner, LA., sister, Mae Hoggatt of Wisner, brother and sister-in-law, W. H. & Catherine Allbritton of Snyder, TX, and brother, Andrew Allbritton, Jr. of Wisner, LA.

Daphnie is survived by sister, Nancy Meggenhofen and husband Gordon of Springhill, Kansas; mother-in-law, Una Woods of Winnsboro, LA; brother-in-law, Michael Woods and wife Judy of Winnsboro, LA; sister-in-law, Pat Fuller and Dan of Riverside, CA; sister-in-law, Barbara Barfield of Winnsboro; and brother-in-law Wilton Hoggatt of Wisner, LA. She is also survived by her three children, Greg Woods and fiancé Nancy Colvin of Monroe, LA, Tina Lenard and husband Kerry of Columbia, LA, and Kevin Woods and wife Nita of Monroe, LA. She has three precious grandchildren that she loved with all her heart, Emilee Marie Lenard, Meghan Raye Woods and Andrew Kade Woods. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Brad Burtram, Randy Barfield, Rusty Barfield, Ronnie Barfield, Steve McMullen and Jim Hegwood.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 24, 2006 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Memorials may be made to her favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
