Judge John N. Hudson Honored for Judicial Excellence

(JACKSON, MS)— The Mississippi Bar honored Adams County Judge John N. Hudson with the 2005 Judicial Excellence Award. The Mississippi Bar 2004-2005 President Charles J. Swayze presented the award to Judge Hudson at the The Mississippi Bar’s 2005 Annual Meeting on July 16.

The Mississippi Bar awarded the Judicial Excellence Award to Judge Hudson for exceeding the call of the judicial office as a leader in advancing the quality and efficiency of justice and for maintaining high ideals, character and integrity.

A lifelong resident of Natchez, Judge Hudson has served as Adams County Judge since he was first appointed in 1983 by then Governor William Winter. Previously, he held positions as City of Natchez Public Defender and City Prosecutor as well as a Trustee in Bankruptcy. Judge Hudson has served in various capacities with Mississippi’s Youth Court reform.

“He is an innovator and has provided leadership in initiating change within the Adams County Court. He has tirelessly worked to improve the judicial environment and administration of the courts,” said Forrest County and Youth Court Judge Michael W. McPhail.
