There is danger from all men. The only maxim of a free government ought to be to trust no man living with power to endanger the public liberty.

What is  MusiKamp?

  • MusiKamp is what Victoria Hoggatt and friends like to do, instead of documenting criminal conduct.

Hats off to the Peace officers, and prosecutors who have to live with sad, dark, and serious every day.

Though a very trialsome time, friends, prayer and Bible reading were essential, but being able to compose and play music was the difference between unyielding grief, and joy.

  • For the first time, I got to enjoy the transcendent experience of playing in unison with another guitarist, like my dear brother John, or having a group of friends at a party sing my song. The joy is unique. In a jaded world, 'tis a Thrill! Thanks so much to the friends who truly are musicians, Rick, Denisa, and others, who let me play with them,
  • which showed great love.

  • A poet friend, Bob Malone  asked, "How do you do that,? I'd like to put my poetry to music." Lots of folks have wished they could write or play their own music. Voila! MusiKamp was conceived in sorrow, but is now produced with sheer delight. There is a net component of MusiKamp, which is free, and an actual continuing education live component, which is the two day course held at unique, often historical, properties.

  •  MusiKamp is instruction on beginning composition for fun and sanity. The first Kamp with available openings  is scheduled for Thursday September 29 and Friday, September 30, 2005, to be held at Old Sturbridge Village, in Massachusetts during peak (we hope) foliage. Instructors are friends,  musicians that  believe in the gift that film, music, friends, and literature are.  Instruction each morning of the two day MusiKamp from 8:00  until 1:00 pm consists of 30 minute presentations, interspersed with breaks and practicums.  Each MusiKamp is limited to 20 MusiKampers.
  •  We learn as much from MusiKampers, as they from us. An interchange of encouragement. We have been very richly blessed, and friends from all over the world have proven one of the richest blessings.

  • What do I learn at MusiKamp?

How do I sign up for the live MusiKamp tm?

    • Good question. If you want to join us for MusiKamp in Massachusetts, USA Thursday September 29 and Friday, September 30, 2005, Kamp tuition is $275.00 per participant, and you may register here. You may make your hotel reservations directly with the lodges of Old Sturbridge Village. If you tell Greta Boulger at 508.347.3327 that you are with MusiKamp, you can qualify for the group rates, if you make your OSV Lodges reservations prior to September 9, 2005. OSV was kind enough to extend the MusiKamp group rate for the Made in Massachusetts weekend, which follows on October 1 and 2nd, 2005, for the Kampers, like me, that  want to stay over for it. Though it can't be predicted with certainty, peak foliage!!!!!!!
    • Family rates for MusiKamp are available.
  •

You will love Old Sturbridge Village !

    • All participants must be able to play three chords, and have their little fingers toughied up to prepare for Kamp. Spending $25 on 2 half hour lessons from any music store or music instructor, or your teenage son's friend, and then practicing those chords, should do the trick.
    • We can' teach you to play and write for fun in the same weekend.
    • Maybe some famous guitarist would like to show on the net how to play our three chords, for Kampers with no friends or agoraphobia.

Willie Mays played his first Major League game on May 25, 1951, and went 0-for-5 at the plate. He started his career 1-for-25 and told his manager, "I can't do it, Mr. Leo. You better bench me."  Baseball Almanac

If a MusiKamp has not  yet been scheduled in your area, and you want one, why don't you do it?
